It was the best of timings. It was the worst of timings. Spring of 2020 was definitely the trickiest of timings to launch a small business, but here we are.
And, actually, yay! Here we are.
The truth is, launching a family garden supply business is our destiny, and doing it right now might be exactly right. After all, people around the world are turning to gardening as a soothing, family-friendly hobby that also eases concerns over food security as lockdowns make grocery shopping all-but-impossible, and access to farm fresh fruits and vegetables more of a challenge.
We have a ridiculously bold vision that everyone should be growing something. Greens to eat (or smoke). Orchids to enjoy. Plants to nourish us, body and soul. And we built our brother-and-sister-run business to help everyone do just that.
We hope that people will see the need for a more flexible, durable and sustainable plant support system than the old wire tomato cages, tape and clips method. Just as they see a need for the earth, its life-giving power, and one another.
Robin Wall Kimmerer said it best in her extraordinary book Braiding Sweetgrass:
“[p]lants are also integral to reweaving the connection between land and people. A place becomes a home when it sustains you, when it feeds you in body as well as spirit. To recreate a home, the plants must also return.”
We couldn’t agree more.
We hope you dig dirt, grow something amazing, and try our C-BITES, the business fruits of our labor. They’re not only innovative (like, the-only-thing-like-it innovative), but also fun to play with. Like tinker toys for your garden.
Thanks for being excited with us as we start this new journey. Together, we can grow—and do—great things.
Peace, Love and Flowers,
Jason and Morgan
